What CompileBI does

CompileBI turns an Excel workbook or a CSV file you upload into a Power BI project you can download. The project is generated from your data by software; it is a starting point you own and edit, not advice.

Your account

You sign in with an email address, or with a Google or Microsoft account. You are responsible for what is uploaded under your account. Do not upload data you do not have the right to process.

On the Team plan, the account that pays owns a shared workspace and may seat up to five people in it by email. Everyone seated sees and can change everything in that workspace. The owner is responsible for who is seated and for what they upload; a person can leave, and the owner can remove them, at any time from Settings.

Your content

Workbooks, reports and messages you create stay yours. You grant CompileBI only what it needs to build your reports: to store the workbook, read it, and produce the project for you.

A workbook is stored for its report and used for nothing else. Deleting a chat deletes its workbook and its compiled report at once. A finished report is kept for 30 days after it is built, then deleted, and the stored workbook with it; download what you want to keep.

What CompileBI does not promise

Generated reports can be wrong. Measures are checked two ways before download, and questions the data cannot support are refused and listed, but you are responsible for checking a report before you act on it.

The service is offered as is. It may change, pause, or be withdrawn.

Plans and payment

The Free plan costs nothing and needs no card. Starter, Pro, Max and Team are subscriptions, billed monthly or annually in advance through Paddle, our merchant of record, at the prices shown on the pricing page when you subscribe. Each plan's monthly limit on reports and changes is shown there and in Settings; a report or change past your limit is refused, never charged.

A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel it from Settings, where it runs to the end of the period you have paid for. If a renewal payment fails, the plan keeps working for up to 14 days while payment is retried; after that the workspace returns to the Free plan until payment succeeds.

Fair use

Do not use CompileBI to attack it or others, to upload malware, to upload data you have no right to process, or to overload it. Every workspace is limited to a few builds in flight at once and a bounded number of requests a minute, whatever its plan.

The Free plan is one free report a month per person, not per account: a second account opened from the same browser, or with the same email address written another way, shares the first one's free report that month.

A code for free reports can be used once per person, by account and by email address as above. Its reports are spent only by you, in your own workspace (for a team's owner, that is the team's), and any not used are gone 90 days after the code was entered. On the Free plan they are used before the monthly free report; on a paid plan, once the plan's builds for the month are used. Each report built with a code can take up to 10 changes, and keeps them after its code's 90 days.

Closing an account

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Every chat, workbook and compiled report in your own workspace is deleted immediately, and a paid subscription is cancelled at once. CompileBI may suspend or close an account that breaks the fair-use rules or does not pay; the reports in it are deleted on the usual schedule.
